California Sexual Harassment Training Deadline Extended
About California SB 788
On August 30 2019, the state of California amended the SB 778 ruling. This ruling affects employers with 5 or more employees. First, they must provide at least 2 hours of sexual harassment training to supervisory employees. Additionally, they must provide at least 1 hour of this training to non-supervisory employees. The training must take place within 6 months of the employee starting their position. Then, the training must be retaken every two years.
New SB 778 Deadline – January 1, 2021
Before, the deadline to provide training was January 1, 2020. Now, the deadline is January 1, 2021. The bill also specifies who has provided the training and education in 2019 is not required to provide the training again until 2 years thereafter.
